Joe Castronovo: Owner and President
Joe Castronovo, PT, DPT, MTC, is a Chicagoland native and graduate of Northwestern School of Physical Therapy and Human Movement Sciences. Dr. Castronovo was exposed to the care of injured workers at the beginning of his career as a physical therapist. This experience created a lifelong passion to improve functional outcomes and contribute to a higher percentage of return-to-work capability within this population.
Dr. Castronovo has spent 20 years developing industrial rehabilitation and work conditioning programs. He has trained numerous colleagues and has performed well over one thousand Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs). During his years as a health care provider, Dr. Castronovo has developed injury prevention programs for multiple municipalities and has helped decrease injury rates for multiple fire, police, and public works departments. As a result, he has an extensive understanding of the specific requirements of these professional job demands.
Dr. Castronovo also regularly performs utilization reviews and medical record reviews for general casualty, workers' compensation, and auto accident cases. He is known in the field of FCEs as a national educator and expert as he provides classes, educational training opportunities, lectures, and critiques on the topic. Moreover, he has been called on to serve as an expert witness regarding the quality of FCE testing and protocol over the past ten years.
Dr. Castronovo focuses on the injured worker, but he is also a Certified Manual Therapist through the University of Saint Augustine. He uses his manual skills to treat patients with all types of orthopedic and joint dysfunctions.
Adria Castronovo
(Business Manager, Physical Therapist)
Adria Castronovo, PT, MS, has been practicing physical therapy in her specialty of outpatient orthopedics in Chicago and area suburbs since 2001. This has facilitated her ability to offer both more space as well as a higher level of care to her clientele. She began her career in an industrial setting as a staff therapist, and she was an integral part of the staff. She learned how to progress the worker postoperatively from therapy sessions to work conditioning and, ultimately, back to work safely. She has served in managerial roles and, more than once, has grown her staff to result in her teams moving to larger locations. This facilitated the ability to offer both more space as well as a higher level of care to her clientele. Adria has vast experience in providing care in the outpatient as well as in the home PT setting. Her tremendous sense of creativity allows her to provide care that is tailor-made for her patients.
Adria attended Physical Therapy school at Clarke University in Dubuque, IA. Born and raised in Chicago, Adria currently enjoys working in a collaborative care model with physicians, physician assistants and case managers to provide the most effective and holistic care for her patients.
Adria's athletic background in volleyball, long distance running, and biking initially propelled and has continued to fuel her desire to pursue her profession. She enjoys working with a diverse orthopedic patient population, but her interests have developed over past years to focus on spine, movement analysis, and manual therapy interventions. Adria also believes in educating her patients and providing them with the resources they need to take an active role in their recovery.
